A three-minute film made as the centre piece for BBC London's coverage of the Oranges and Lemons project.

The film features the choir, all of whom live or work within earshot of one of the sets of bells alongside some of the bell ringers who helped us on the project and the spoken memories of people who spent key moments of their lives within areas around the churches.

I am particularly grateful to the people who shared their memories with us:
Paul Cohen grew up in Shadwell, close to Stepney Church; playwright Sir Arnold Wesker grew up near the bells of Whitechapel ("two sticks and an apple"); Joan Rose, is the daughter of a Huguenot grocer who lived right underneath Shoreditch church and Robert Dee works in the Lloyd's building, which dwarfs the towers of St Helen's, Bishopgate ("You owe me ten shillings").

The film was shot in the extraordinary crypt of Shoreditch Church, on the site of the former church of Whitechapel, on the roof of St Helen's and inside Katherine Cree church ("Maids in white aprons")
