Benjamin satrted learning the 'cello at the age of 8, because he wanted to be like Julie from The Kids from Fame!

The 'cello introduced him to lifelong friends, and led to many wonderful opportunities.  As a young man, he played on Blue Peter, at the Albert hall, The Purcell Rooms and toured Canada...

Benjamin, Edward, Chloe and Fiona played together in a string quartet in their youth, and again in the early 2000s.  They spent their sixth form years busking in towns and cities all over the midlands.  Their favourite haunt was Coventry, and their pitch in that city was outside a bakery.  The staff inside used to bring them free luch, and chase off other buskers when they were around.

The 'cello playing activated Benjamin's passion for composing, which led to his studying music at the University of York... and it was at York where Benjamin directed his first play.

Sdaly Benjamin only won one award as a 'cellist: the Rushden and District Young Musician of the Year - the award was plastic, and looked like an old tape case!!

Benjamin played the 'cello on a number of studio albums, including the original cast recording of Boy George's Taboo in the West End.
